Those words are chilling precisely because history shows they are true when institutions fail. And make no mistake: the threat is real, it is active, and it could move far faster than many people expect. The fact that something is unconstitutional has not stopped this administration before.

Waiting until the courts, the press, or “someone else” fixes it is not a strategy.

We want to be especially clear about something uncomfortable but important. MerchMuse was founded by two older white guys. Historically speaking, people who look like us are often the last to feel the direct consequences when democratic norms collapse. By the time “they come for us,” it will already be too late.

That’s why silence is not neutrality. It’s surrender.
